ChatGPT is coming to your Virtual Meetings
Microsoft is asking things up, starting with Teams Premium implementing ChatGPT, and more.
Around a week ago, Microsoft invested approx. $10 Billion dollars in the creators of ChatGPT, OPENAI.
No, Microsoft is not trying to guide the world in a positive direction amidst these pivotal times in technology; they are trying to compete… and it seems like they just got the upper hand.
If you work in any corporate, professional, or office setting, you probably use Microsoft Teams (don’t ask me why they prefer Teams).
Microsoft is starting their AI revamp by starting with implementing:
- intelligent recap
- AI-generated chapters
- personalized timeline markers
- speaker timeline markers
- AI-generated notes
- AI-generated tasks
- live translations
Let’s unpack.
Intelligent Recap —
Utilizing AI summarization models that take input (speech or text) and predicting what the meaning behind what was said/stated/written was and making it immensely more concise.
AI-Generated Chapters —
Divide the meeting into sections so it’s easy to pick and choose the content most relevant to you. Utilizing a similar model to the summarization features, topics & words that are repeated or detected are then put as timestamps throughout recordings.
Personalized timeline markers —
Timestamps that only you can see — call out when you joined or left a meeting in the meeting recording, so you can quickly click and listen in on what you missed.
Speaker timeline markers —
Utilizing speech recognition and NLP, Teams is able to detect who was talking, what they said, and when.
AI-generated notes —
AI-Generated note-taking based on the presentation are powered directly by chatGPT or GPT 3.5
AI-generated tasks —
Tasks and Action items are automatically suggested to you from what was stated throughout the meeting.
Live Translation —
(for captions) now available in Teams Premium, you get AI-powered real-time translations from 40 spoken languages. Meeting participants can read captions in their own language.
